Valentine's Day

In between projects for QuiltCon I am squeezing in a few Valentine's Day projects.  I whipped up 4 little pillows for my kiddos' teachers.  My daughter has the same teacher my son had last year, so I kept with the same color scheme I made her gift out of last year.  This year I used some of my Heather Bailey fabric.  I won't lie...I REALLY want to keep at least 2 of them for myself.  :/  Oh well...they're going to good sweet teachers so I can't ask for much more than that, can I?

Every bit of fabric and thread on these pillows is from the stash.  YAY!!!  :)  I like that while I kept some "traditional" Valentine's Day colors I added the unexpected blue into the mix.  It makes it something that could be out all year round if you wanted it to be.  I do have one qualm with these though.  I used my beloved Frixion pen to keep everything level as I put it in place.  But, once I ironed it away it left a very faint white line behind.  :/  Not a huge deal, but irritating nonetheless.  I'll be better about testing it on the fabric in the future.

I'm honestly not sure what is better.  The front or the back!  Look at those yummy prints!!!!!  I went with an envelope closure.  All of the teachers have young children at home so It will be nice that they can easily remove and wash the cases.  Each pillow measures 12" square and will hopefully be a lovely addition to their Valentine's Day decor.  :)

  4. Adorable Amanda! I'm about to start some v-day gifts for my son's teachers in a bit. I left it to the last minute! Blah. At least there are only two teachers, but tomorrow is the party so I better get moving! I love the pillows, those teachers sure are lucky!
