So, I have some little pictures floating around that I haven't shared yet so I thought I'd take a bit of my Saturday to play catch up. (How sad is it that this is what I am doing on my Saturday? HA!) Anywho...
First off...I made a lovely journal cover based on Rachel's tutorial for QuiltCon. I had a charm pack of Marmalade laying around and decided to cut that baby open to make the cover. I took several squares, sewed them into 1x3 strips and cut them in two different ways. 3" and 2" or 3.5" and 1.5" lengthwise. I then staggered them so that none of the horizontal seams lined up and made sure to put in my black linen strip in approximately the center. I didn't fuss about that too much. I do want to go back and embroidery my name and the dates the journal covers on it. Like a history of my quilting. I have some projects in here that I can't wait to get to, and I'm thinking one of them needs to be a tutorial for the blog. :) So stay tuned for that!
I also crammed in my Stitch that Stash! Bee group blocks in. I'm late mailing them off, but I'm glad they're done. Kristan (who I missed seeing at QuiltCon. So bummed.) chose the Ohio Star block. She asked for blues and greys...
March is my turn to pick a block design, so I chose the Reverse Rainbow Starburst Block. Rather than an exact rainbow I am asking all of my bee pals to use a color of their choosing. My final layout will depend on what colors I receive, so I'm excited to see where it takes me! Here is my block:
What's coming up? I have just turned the final corner in my hand quilting on my very favoritist (not a word, but I'm using it anyway) quilt to date. WOOOOOOO!!!!
I have my son's bed quilt to machine quilt (no idea what I'm going to do there). A mini quilt for a guild challenge, some embroidery for a mini quilt in my daughter's room, a cross stitched present I owe my hubby, and this month is my son's 4th birthday!!! AAAAHHHH!!! But, as you can see...there will be MANY things to share in the upcoming days/weeks. And fingers crossed I can get working on that mystery tutorial for you soon. ;) Hope you fit some quilting in your weekend!!! I now leave you with goofy pictures of some pals and I at QuiltCon:

Great post! It's fun to see what you've been up to! I'm looking forward to making your Starburst block!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what everything means in your post, but I really like the green one.
