Started My Sugar Block Club Blocks

Man, that title is a mouthful.  ;)

If you're visiting from a link on Denyse Schmidt's Facebook page, a big welcome to you!  Thanks for dropping in.  I hope you'll take a look around and continue to come back.  :)

I joined up with Stitchery Dickory Dock's Sugar Block Club in late January, but never got around to getting started on my blocks until yesterday.  January's block is titled "Snow Blossom" and is super cute.  I had trouble getting my light yellow points to "connect" with my blue HSTs in the corner.  Oh well...if I have enough material at the end I'll make another attempt.  It's not glaringly awful so for now I'm leaving it be.  ;)

I got the Timeless Treasure's "Sketch" bundles at Fabricworm in the cool blues and warm color ways.

I'm really dropping the ball on this working from my stash thing.  I pinky swear I have projects lined up with existing fabrics, but I REALLY wanted this BOM quilt to be in a solid sort of feel, without being exactly a solid.  I dunno...it was just a really strong feeling I had about it and I'm loving the results so far.  I will now try to climb back on my horse, so to speak.

I also picked up 2, yes 2 giveaway items at my LQS, Oklahoma Quiltworks.  That giveaway will be posted about tomorrow so stay tuned.  AND...I just finished hand quilting my "Little Apple Orchard" quilt (see the beginnings of this quilt here).  Can I just say it is an amazing feeling to have done so much hand quilting (of the itty bitty nature)!  It feels like such a major accomplishment.  Now to get that binding on for the big reveal!!!  And don't forget I mentioned a tutorial.  So much fun stuff to come.  Well, only if I get back to work.  Stay tuned, and come back tomorrow afternoon for giveaway news (I'll post about it on facebook as well.).
