I stepped away from my sewing machine for a bit. I completed the top for my husband's quilt which we've talked about a few times. And I decided I needed a sewing break. So I knitted.
Unfortunately, my knitting intermission was to the detriment of completing my August Stitch That Stash block on time. Kris asked everyone to make a skateboard block of her own design. I hope she doesn't mind that I needed to step away from the sewing for a bit. And I hope she likes the end result. I'm in love with the fussy cut squirrels.
I'm sort of over my husband's quilt for the moment so I'll have to power through on that. I think it's because another project is calling my name. I have this stack of fabrics sitting in my sewing area:
I know exactly what pattern I want to use with them. The grays are going to be used for a scrappy background look. Almost a play on "reverse" low volume if you will. I think it will still read as quiet and soft but the color is so dark and bold at the same time. A very different effect. So excited about it, but I know I have a whole slew of other "musts" before I dive into this "want".
