A Plethora of Pillows

Okay…four probably doesn't constitute a "plethora."  But, for me, four is a lot.  Especially since new pillows have been on my to do list for the last two years.  It took my hubby mentioning that we could really use new pillows for me to get my rear in gear.  (The previous covers were about 8 years old, and our dog chewed some of the corners off 2 years ago.)  You know when your husband notices…it's gotten out of hand.  Amiright?

New pillows were definitely in order.  I had plans of piecing each pillow differently, and I finally said to myself, "Self, you are NEVER going to get around to that."  Enter plan B…use the AMH linen I had for a different project.  It's perfect, durable yet soft, and goes with my decor PERFECTLY.  (I could seriously use an entire bolt in my house if I had it.)  I also had this yummy orange linen and some bulky piping.  It's like 1/4" or 3/8" thick.

Piping…one of those things I don't often do because it's an "extra."  But, I'm finding these days that I'm enjoying those extras more.  I just need to record myself saying that so I can replay it when I'm feeling lazy during my sewing.

I really did make four pillows, but this little sicky (luckily only a case of the sniffles) wasn't going to be sharing the one she was using.
Can't say I blame her.  Being sick is the pits.

  1. those are gorgeous! I bought some of the feathers linen to make pillows but ended up using it for other stuff first. Of course, now it's impossible to buy :-(

  2. The piping is perfect with that lovely print. What size pillows are those? They look so big and fluffy and cozy.

  6. Adorable pillows! The piping really makes these so I think that extra effort was well worth it!

  7. These pillows are so pretty, and that fabric is so lovely that no piecing was needed, I agree! Great piping detail.

Thank you so much for sharing at Needle and Thread Thursday!
